In this project I have been focusing on the task of conveying certain feelings with my music. I have chosen 4 cities that I have lived in and composed music that is supposed to convey the feelings I get when thinking of them. For example; I lived in Falun when I was 16-19 years old. This was a fun time of my life; I had just moved away from my parents and I lived with my best friend in a nice apartment. So, when I think about Falun, I remember the good times and I feel excited and happy. So those are the feelings I try to convey with the tune “Falun”. 

This project took place in Denton, Texas, since I was there on an exchange year at the time. The goal for the project was to perform a concert where the audience were going to fill out a form, answering questions about how the music made them feel. I would later read their answers in order to see if I succeeded in conveying the feelings that I aspired to convey. 

The band that I played with was called “Kinda Swedish Quintet”, and it consisted of people from America, South Korea and Sweden. We rehearsed about 6 times during a period of 8 weeks before we performed the concert. The concert went well, despite the fact that there were not that many people in the audience. 

When reading through the forms that the audience filled out during the concert I had the pleasure of discovering that, in most cases, I had succeeded with conveying the emotions I wanted to convey. With some tunes I did more so than others, but in general the answers that the audience wrote on their forms corresponded very well with my intentions.
