When performing jazz in concert venues with a lot of reverberation, the acoustics can make the music blurred and unintelligible. This thesis is an attempt to present means of adapting to and taking advantage of the reverberation. When composing or performing, it can be a good idea to use moderate tempi, lots of rests, not too much chromaticism and not too frequent chord changes. Distributing the audience over a larger surface can reduce the reverberation. Minimizing the distance between audience and orchestra can make the reverberation a smaller part of the sound that hits the audience.
