Att analysera sitt eget låtskrivande
Royal College of Music in Stockholm, Department of Jazz.
2022 (Swedish)Independent thesis Basic level (degree of Bachelor of Fine Arts), 10 credits / 15 HE creditsStudent thesis [Artistic work]
Abstract [en]

This project investigates how songwriters can analyze their own work as if it was written by somebody else with the purpose of challenging themselves and developing new skillsets. The bachelor thesis analyzes four songs, written by the author, with the following methods: harmonic analysis, lyrical analysis, and structural analysis. Towards the end, the essay presents insights into the process, what has been learned and what other songwriters can learn by allowing themselves to challenge their current approaches and put a mirror up against their own work.
