Abstract [sv]
This study explores how one can use aspects of different musical genres as a tool for composing new modern instrumental guitar music. This study examines the process and final result when using specific musical aspects as points of departure from other genres otherwise not inherent in instrumental guitar music. The final result consisted of five compositions based on five different genres that were all performed at a concert on March 20th 2024. This bachelor thesis also explores how performing this music changes the traditional role of the guitar player, and how he/she needs to adapt the way they play in order to make up for the lack of a vocalist. The study also describes the methods that one can use to make that happen effectively.
