Abstract [en]

In this thesis, based on policy documents on an accessible society, regarding students with disabilities, the Swedish Culture School is examined. In 2010, all the Swedish municipal operations would be available to everyone. Has this goal really been implemented in reality or is it just a theoretical construct? To explore the process of accessibility at municipal level, interviews were conducted with three politicians and three principals of the Culture schools in three municipalities. Two of the municipalities are located in central Sweden, and the third in southern Sweden. The interviewees were anonymized for ethical reasons.  A conclusion based on the results is that there is a great awareness in the three municipalities when it comes to offering training for all students, regardless of conditions. There are great collaborations with special schools in the municipalities, where they buy arts from the Swedish Culture School. However, it is still unusual for students with a disability to participate in subject courses, in order to play classical orchestral instruments, although the possibility exists.
