Kyrkan har på flera sätt blivit ett forum för musikalisk genrebredd. Att framföra folkmusik i ett kyrkomusikaliskt sammanhang är därför inte heller något särskilt anmärkningsvärt, även om avståndet mellan kyrkan och spelmännens musik historiskt sett varit betydligt större. Med avstamp i detta är syftet med denna studie att undersöka och sammanställa mina konstnärliga val vid överföringen av violinbaserad spelmansmusik till orgel. För att ge inblick i ämnet, både historiskt och musikaliskt, har flertalet källor i tryckt, otryckt och klingande form använts. Dessa, tillsammans med egen sedan tidigare erhållen kunskap och erfarenhet av ämnet, ligger till grund för musikaliska aspekter som på olika sätt behandlas i min personliga tolkning av spelmansmusik vid orgel. I förhållande till detta diskuteras även frågor kring autenticitet samt hur kyrkomusikerns roll förändrats över tid. 

The church has in many ways become a forum for a wide range of musical genres. Performing folk music in a church musical context is therefore not particularly remarkable, even if the distance between the church and the fiddlers' music has historically been considerably greater. With this in mind, the purpose of this thesis is to examine and compile my artistic choices in transferring violin-based fiddle music to the organ. In order to provide insight into the subject, both historically and musically, several sources in printed, unprinted and audible form have been used. These, together with my own previously acquired knowledge and experience of the subject, form the basis for musical aspects that various ways are treated in in my personal interpretation of fiddle music at the organ. In relation to this, questions about authenticity and how the role of the church musician has changed over time are also discussed.
