This artistic research project investigates Stockholm’s traffic planning between 1940 and 1975, a period marked by strong technological optimism, ideological conflict, and large-scale urban transformation.

The project examines how artistic sound-making in relation to data and spatial visualization, from an artist point of view, can render perceptible the political, affective, and ideological dimensions embedded within urban planning processes.

Rather than reconstructing historical narratives, the work translates, material traffic plans, master plans, photographs, documentary films, statistical data, and field recordings into artistic abstract sonic and visual forms.

Through spatialization and immersive staging, the project seeks to materialize otherwise intangible processes such as political negotiation, infrastructural vision, and competing imaginaries of the future.

The outcome is an artistic immersive installation in which past and present coexist, allowing the city to function both as subject and medium. The project positions artistic practice as a method for investigating and re-experiencing urban transformation.
