This is a study of how music written with or without a story in mind can be performed live to an audience in a way that conveys some sort of message or meaning and thus enhancing the perceived meaning of a piece. The study will work out how music is connected to storytelling and which aspects that make up this craft. It will also look at the effects of storytelling from the perspective of a performer and how it may help to alleviate a musical piece to a new level of perception. To this accompanies a study into how different composers have composed from a story, picture or thing in mind, what elements goes into a composition to make it perceivable, and how a performer can reverse engineer a piece with or without any known story to enhance their performance. The end goal is thus to improve the musical ability of the musician in a live concert format, and to find ways to elevate the experience of the audience.
